Samsung Galaxy S9 Concept Appears Like iPhone X Top ‘Notch’

Korean multinational conglomerate Samsung’s most recent forerunner Galaxy Note 8 is now accessible in stores. Android lovers and concept designers are keen to look forward to next year’s Galaxy S9. Rival company of Samsung, Apple has just revealed its new Smartphone called iPhone X with a bezel-less display and excellent quality. A concept designer strived to envision a similar notch on Samsung’s next-generation flagship. This latest Samsung Galaxy S9 model highlights the all-screen front and the top cutout.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 concept ‘notch’ looks better than iPhone X’s. The newest Galaxy S9 concept is brought from the YouTube channel DBS Designing. The Samsung’s recent flagship Smartphone is bezel-less, though there are still noticeable slim bezels at the top and bottom. The Samsung Galaxy S9 concept has an-all display with virtual navigation buttons at the bottom.

On the very top of Samsung Galaxy S9’s front panel, you’ll see a slim cutout that contains the front camera, the iris scanner, ear speaker, and other sensors. It seems that the Galaxy S9 concept might have been stimulated by rival American MNC’s iPhone X’s top notch, but it appears far more sleek and attractive than Apple’s Smartphone. The iPhone X cutout is more defined than DBS Designing’s concept.

Time and date are displayed on the left side of the notch. Some other important icons such as WiFi, battery and cellular strength are shown on the right side. The model Smartphone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a loudspeaker, and USB Type-C port at the bottom. According to some designers, Samsung would not ditch the 3.5mm audio jack although its rival companies such as Apple have removed the feature.

This model phone is powered with the dual camera on front and back.

Galaxy S9 concept Smartphone is built of glass and metal, while DBS Designing envisioned the device featuring Infinity OLED display with Quad HD plus resolution and in 18:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint sensor feature is embedded into the display. It is improbable as Samsung is still stressed with the fingerprint scanner. The trait is predicted to debut with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in the mid of next year (2018).

The operating system of Samsung Galaxy S9 is Android 8.1 Oreo. It has internal storage of 128GB and is powered by 6GB RAM. There is a non-removal 3600mAh battery. It runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 SoC. The company has got the deal with Qualcomm that makes it the first phone vendor to get the starting supply of Snapdragon 845.

DBS Designing imaged the Galaxy S9 with dual cameras on the back and featuring two 18MP sensors. The Smartphone also has a dual camera setup that contains two 13MP snappers for selfie lovers.

There is a high possibility that Samsung Galaxy S9 would feature a top notch like Smartphone iPhone X, though the Korean company hasn’t confirmed it yet. According to some sources, recently the Samsung Company granted the patent for a similar cutout at the top notch and the patent was filed in the month of May 2016, long before iPhone X rumors. The patent was granted by the KIPRIS (the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service).

Samsung Galaxy S9 rumored specs

As stated by XDA Developers, the Samsung Galaxy and S9 Plus will encompass model numbers like SM-G960 and SM-965. The phone will have 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch screens from their predecessors. Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus would have 4GB RAM and base storage of 64GB. Of course, the company would include a microSD card slot for additional memory expansion. The Galaxy S9 is supposed to have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner like Samsung Galaxy S8.

Galaxy S9 to be launched in January?

Usually, Samsung launches the new Galaxy S mobiles in the month of February or March. The Samsung Galaxy S8’s launch (unveiled in April) was an exception because it was pushed back due to the Note 7 debacle. On the other hand, Korean media asserts that the Samsung Galaxy S9 would be unveiled in the month of January, next year. The Galaxy S9’s display development was begun in April 2016.

The Investors claims that the Galaxy S9 will be launched in January and would go on sale in the month of February. Sources revealed the media that Samsung Display will start shipping OLED panels in November.

The Investor asserts that the Korean Company Samsung is conducting the flagship device earlier than usual to guard its market share in opposition to Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone X, which will hit the stores in November. The iPhone X is likely to see brisk sales during the holiday quarter.
