As per a latest research that was published in JAMA, states that a rising number of women are consuming marijuana during their time of pregnancy, and specifically young women aging between 18 to 24. For study purpose, the researchers had a look through at the data from a group of around 279,457 women who are pregnant belong from Kaiser Permanente Northern California between the years 2012-2016.  Altogether, the rates of the smoking women, who are into smoking weed, rose from 4.2 percent to 7.1 percent over this period of four years. Thus, which age group was consuming the most weed during pregnancy? When looked into the rate jumped to 12.5% to 21.8% for woman with age 18 or even younger during this period of four year. And in the range of 18-24 the rate had an increase from 9.8% to 19%. And lastly for those groping from 24 to 30 years of age the rate increased from 3.4% to 5.1%. But researchers of the study wrote that these rates are probably much higher, it is because individuals frequently lie to their doctors about their drug usage due to the fear of stigmatization.
