WhatsApp Working On Multi-Device Functionality; To Offer Support For iPad, Android Tablets

Whatsapp

WhatsApp has been working on a multi-device functionality feature for some time now, and the latest reports suggest that it will soon start supporting the iPad. The Facebook-owned company might release a version of the instant messaging app for iPad. A tweet by WABetaInfo also said that WhatsApp may soon start supporting other Android tablets as well.

The non–availability of support for iPads and other tablets has been a major pitfall for the company. But with the launch of the new version, the company seems to fix the issue. The report also said that the ‘multi-device 2.0’ version to support different devices will be available to the beta testers.

With this update, it seems like it is just a matter of time when the support for tablets is officially launched by WhatsApp. “WhatsApp is working on multi-device support, and users would soon be able to link iPad. WhatsApp is likely to support multi-device on Android tablets as well,” the tweet said. Initially, beta testers would have access to the feature.

The stable version will be rolled by WhatsApp after getting valuable feedback from those users. Earlier, Facebook chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg had suggested that an independent multi-device mode may also make an appearance. The device would allow users to stay connected even if there is no power or network in the main device.

The feature is one of the most important features as it would make it easy for users to stay connected through WhatsApp. However, Zuckerberg had said that it is a big challenge for the technical team working on it. “Technically, it’s a big challenge for those who are working on this feature. This is because it is extremely difficult to make sure that all your messages and content are synced properly across all devices. Things become tough when you have to this for scenarios where users’ phone has no battery. However, the issue has been resolved, and we are looking forward to releasing it soon,” Zuckerberg had said.
