Activists Are Trying To Boycott Amazon On Its Annual Prime Day Sale

There are millions of people who were waiting for amazon prime day sale, and now since it’s here a piece of news has come which might affect it. It’s been reported that some group of activists has started a protest against Amazon and they demand amazon to cut ties with Federal Deportation agency. Protestors also want a better work condition. The protest was planned to happen during the prime day at which the tech giant offers an enormous amount of discounts on various products. After looking at last year’s success of prime day sale protestors have managed to gather a crowd to protest against Amazon on prime day sale.

Activists said that Amazon should cut its ties with US officials of Deportation Department who are ultimately firing immigrants and sending them out of the USA. They also think Amazon should not make prime day sale and earn billions of dollars when workers are under poor working environment. The protest is reportedly happening in seven cities. Protestors reportedly will go to Jeff Bezos’s home in Manhattan and submit more than 225000 petitions which say Amazon should cut ties with US deportation authorities. Reportedly Department of Homeland Security databases are hosts on Amazon Web Services.

This data of various people is used by US authorities to find immigrants and take appropriate action. Now the company is trying to increase the database by entering into a new contract with US authorities and protestors doesn’t like this idea. Amazon has launched the concept of Prime Day in 2015 since they have managed to collect a considerable amount of revenue from it. In 2018, Amazon reportedly made a sale of $4billion, and this year company is expecting to break that record. Now it’s just a matter of time to know how much this protest is going to affect Amazon’s prime day sale.
