The CEO and president of the Activision Blizzard Company, Daniel Alegre, declares in a company letter to the employees, which is publicly available, “Today we are declaring that our company will be all sales of games in Russia as the conflict persists. We will continue looking for ways to assist the Ukrainian population. I want to assure you that our management team’s top priority is the employee’s safety. We are doing everything that can support our employees and their families, who are affected by this tragedy.”

In the company letter, Daniel also wrote that the company matches employee donations to charities that offer relief two-to-one (with the company’s matching limit of between $1000 and $10,000). As per his analysis, the organization and the employees have raised $300,000 in this manner. Employees at Activision Blizzard will choose from a broader range of organizations.

Daniel Alegre states, “I would like to applaud the amazing contribution from our colleagues in Poland, where many people have offered their time to help Ukrainian refugees and other peoples in need. We will continue cooperating with them to discover other ways to aid this effort. We fully support the Ukrainian population and will update you on any actions we are taking as the situation continues to take place.”

Epic Video Game Company states that it would be “stopping commerce with Russia” in its game in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in a tweet. The Epic Company declared that it would not restrict Russian access to games, justified it by comparing it with communications tools, and stated that ” the free world must keep all lines of the dialogue open.”

As a result, Epic Games and Activision Blizzard both join the increasing list of gaming firms that have taken action against Russia. The gaming companies list includes CD Projekt RED (Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher) and  Microsoft (Xbox).

According to the Verge-technology news website, the Electronic Arts Video game Company removes the Russian teams from popular video games such as the NBA and FIFA. Also, the CD Projekt RED Company has stopped the sale of both physical and digital copies of its games. The Microsoft Company has stopped selling all its services and products in Russia, including Minecraft video games removed from Google Play and the App Store in Russia.
