Amazon officially declared that this year’s prime day was the largest shopping event in history. Amazon prime day sale managed to surpass the revenue the company collected in both cyber Monday and Black Friday sale. The report shows that record numbers of people were eager to purchase the items before prime day.

The total amount of sale include from both prime and nonprime members, but data shows prime members bought more than 175 million items. The key attraction became the discounted electronic gadgets which Amazon offered to its customers. Famous electronic devices like Fire TV Stick, Echo smart speakers, and Fire tablets were offered at huge discounted rates. Jeff Bezos said in a press release that people bought more than $2 billion worth of goods from small businesses. They also purchased millions of Alexa electronic enabled devices and saved lots of money by buying from Whole Foods Market. Jeff thanked all Amazonians across the world who made this day special for the company.

The report further revealed that in the USA, people bought more than 100000 laptops, 20000 TVs and more than one million toys. Interesting stat shows that Amazon’s competitors also got profit from this sale. Sales of large retailers or companies went up by more than 68% as compared to last year. Small retailers sales also went up by 28% who last year suffered a lot because of prime day sales. This year’s prime day seemed to be brought joy to all Amazon’s customers plus its competitors also.
