Oh, It’s True!! It’s Damn True!!!!- Kurt Angle Returns To WWE Ring After 11 Years

Entertainment Sports

The only Olympic Gold Medalist to ever grace WWE ring, Kurt Angle is set to make a comeback after 11 years. The WWE Hall of Famer will be part of a 5on 3 Handicap Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at WWE’s TLC pay-per-view this Sunday at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The decision to have Kurt Angle part of the main event has just made TLC one of the most exciting PPV’s in WWE history. For quite some time now, fans and experts have been criticizing WWE for average and sub-standard PPV’s but the addition of Kurt Angle just adds to the massive interest.

The decision to have Angle part of the event was taken by WWE Chairman & CEO, Vince McMahon. According to the McMahon, Kurt Angle expressed his desire to be in the ring rather than staying backstage. Kurt said that the hardest part for him is to stand there in his capacity as Raw GM while the actual action takes place in the ring. Angle told McMahon that though he is delighted to be back at WWE, he would like to be in the ring. Maybe this is the place where he actually belongs. Angle’s return to the TLC PPV this Sunday would mark the first time in 11 years that he steps in a WWE ring. The last time Kurt Angles was part of any WWE show was in 2006 when he faced Sabu. After this Angle left the company and joined TNA.

Angle’s return to the ring is not planned or scripted. He would be filling in for sick Roman Reigns. He would team up with Seth Rollins and Deam Ambrose to take on the team of Braun Strowman, The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, and Kane. This would be a three-on-five Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. This has seriously added to the hype around the event.

Meanwhile, another story broke out that Bray Wyatt would not be competing at TLC due to viral infection. So it was revealed that AJ Styles would replace him for just one night and switch over to Raw branded TLC event.  It would now be a match between Finn Balor and AJ Styles. Interestingly, WWE has long been searching for a star who could become a fan favorite. The company has faced serious issues while promoting Roman Reigns as he was not greeted well by the WWE universe. WWE has been facing a difficult time in drawing fans to arenas ever since stars like John Cena and the Undertaker took back seat. Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and The Great Khali have limited appearances which have further escalated the need for Kurt Angle to return to the ring. Even Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made an impromptu appearance at Wrestlemania 32 last year facing Eric Rowan in a squash match.
