NASA’s TESS Telescope Discovered new Sub-Neptune Exoplanet and Exploding Stars in Space

The NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite has confirmed the discovery of the third new planet in our galaxy. Also, the Satellite telescope has found some exploding stars in the cosmic background. The  NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite or TESS was launched int he April 2018 and has been scanning the space for exoplanets and astronomical objects. The Satellite Telescope has discovered an exoplanet named “HD 21749b”. The Exoplanet HD 21749B is classified as the sub-Neptune planet and is three times bigger than the earth. The HD 21749B is three times bigger but approximately 23 times massive than our world.

The HD 21749B is orbiting it’s a star and completes the orbit in 33 days. Being so close to the star, the surface temperature is very hot as per human standards. But still, the scientists say that the planet is relatively cool considering its distance from the star. As per the reports, the HD 21749B exoplanet is 149 Degree Celcius, which translates to 300 Degrees Fahrenheit. The planet is denser than the Neptune but not as rocky as other dense planets.

The TESS Satellite Telescope finds the planets by observing the distant stars. The telescope detects the minor difference in the star lights due to orbiting objects. The MIT research, Chelsea Huang working on the TESS Datasets confirmed the news and claimed that there are 20 or 30 more planets discovered by the telescope but not yet confirmed. Not just the HD 21749B exoplanet, the TESS has discovered the Pi Mensae c and LHS 3844b exoplanets in the September of Last year. The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite doesn’t only work as a Planet Hunter but finds deep space objects like Asteroids, Stars, and others.
