The American President Joe Biden Bans Russian aircraft From U.S. Airspace

On Tuesday night, the United States President, Joe Biden, during his State of the Union address that the United States would ban all Russian aircraft from entering American airspace in protest against the ongoing military offensive against the Ukraine country. In the coming week, similar action could follow by the European Union and Canada to ban Russian aircraft from their airspace.

The Biden also states that we will join our partners in blocking all Russian flights from entering American airspace, putting more pressure on the Russian economy.

“We have learned this lesson throughout history: when dictators don’t pay the price for their violence, they produce more disorder,” he said. “Russia continues to move towards Ukraine, the threats and costs to the America and the rest of the globe are continuously increasing.”

The United States and its partners have already imposed severe sanctions on Russia. It indicates a direct target to the Russian president Putin and Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation because the worldwide condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine is continuously growing.

President Joe Biden states that he is ready to apply the economic hardships and additional sanctions on the Russian government.

This past Sunday, Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, declared that European Union closed its airspace for the Russian-owned or controlled aircraft. This decision comes from the many member countries across the world. That made plan to shut down their fly zones for Russian aircraft.

Many countries across the globe, including Poland, Austria, France, Bulgaria, Estonia, Britain, and others, joined the airspace ban to protest Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas tweeted that there are no places for aircraft of the aggressor state in the democratic skies.

The transport minister of Canada, Omar Alghabra, announced on Sunday that they would block their airspace to ensure that they hold Russia accountable for its recently-conducted invasion in Ukraine. Also, Joe Biden called this attack an “unnecessary act of aggressiveness against security and peace around the world.”

On Monday, Russian president Putin banned airlines from many nations, including the European Union, from flying over Russia’s airspaces to protest against the bans of other countries.

The US president Biden clearly mentioned in his speech for the nation. He is ready to use The United States Armed Forces to protect other NATO members, including the Soviet-era republics that have just joined.
