If you’re an owner of Surface Pro 4 then you might be one of those unhappy tablet customers to be suffering from a flickering screen; an issue that’s predictable labelled as “flickergate”. Microsoft was not able to serve any fix to this, and now it has come up with a replacement program. Which means those affected by the problem will now be getting a new Surface Pro 4 with no charge. Microsoft states that it has been unable to provide a pact for addressing the issue, and thus it’s simply going to propose replacements to people. Although one is not transparent yet as why the company is taking so long to perform something; owners of Surface Pro 4 have been making complaints regarding screen flicker since the tablet was released back in the year 2015.
Microsoft states that they have heard about their customers’ feedback and after a serious examination, are determined that a minimum percentage of Surface Pro 4 devices are setting out screen flicker, which can’t be addressed with a driver update or firmware. For supporting customers affected by this problem, they will be replacing eligible Surface Pro 4 devices for almost three years right from purchase date to and that too for free.
The company concedes that only number of individuals paid for the out-of-warranty screen repair for addressing the issue with the owned Surface Pro 4, and there’s more good news ahead. Microsoft tells that anyone who paid specifically for the replacement screen for fixing screen flicker can now opt for a refund.

The extension facility for the free replacement is applicable only for the Surface Pro 4 devices that are experiencing screen flickering. For other repairing requirements, owners will keep receiving service under their already existing support for Limited Warranty or Microsoft Complete.
Only Surface Pro 4 device having any configuration, are covered under this scheme. This proposal applies for both commercial customers and consumers. Those customers that have already made a payment for the out-of-warranty fee to mend the screen flickering problem will be getting a refund offer and should get in touch with Customer Support for affirmation.
