PepsiCo Join Hands With Beyond Meat To Launch New Plant-Based Foods

PepsiCo and Beyond Meat have reached a partnership deal to form a joint venture. The new company will be known as PLANeT Partnership LLC. The joint venture will work on to develop a new line of plant-based beverage and protein snacks. The companies have not made any announcement about what kind of products will be launched and by when customers will get their hands on them. They have also not disclosed anything regarding the financial terms of the agreement. However, they expressed confidence in each other and hoped that their expertise will be used to launch some new categories and product lines.

Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown said that they are thrilled about the partnership with PepsiCo. “The joint venture PLANeT Partnership will bring together both the companies. Our leading innovation in plant based protein and PepsiCo’s incredible experience in distribution and marketing capabilities will benefit us. We will definitely look forward to explore into some new categories that will give better choices to people,” Brown said. He said that PepsiCo is the ideal partner for Beyond Meat in this new and very exciting endeavour that will have far reaching importance.

PepsiCo said that there is an exciting growth opportunity for plant based proteins and the partnership will help in building a more sustainable food system. It must be noted that Beyond Meat, which was founded in 2009, has previously partnered with some of the biggest fast food and restaurant chains. It teamed up with Subway, McDonald’s, and Pizza Hut to test and supply plant-based meatballs, burgers, and other products. These products were delivered in the United States and abroad. Pizza Hut had joined hands with the company to offer two plant based meat pizzas. But it was done only for a limited period. Earlier this month, there were reports that Taco Bell was exploring a partnership with Beyond Meat. The partnership was to launch a new plant-based product that was planned to be tested next year.
