17 Infected in Eight States, E.coli Bateria Spreads, Reported CDC


The United States, ‘Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’ (CDC), declares that Escherichia coli bacteria-infected 17 people in eight states. Escherichia coli (E.coli) is a bacteria, gets infected from contaminated foods like meat, ground beef. The States include Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maryland, Montana, Washington, and Wisconsin. But death is not reported anywhere. E. coli O157: H7 is a specific type of bacteria that tends to failure of the kidney called hemolytic uremic syndrome. It found in two of the hospitalized patients. Currently, CDC is investigating different products for the possibilities of bacterial presence.

It creates toxin in the body and resulting in blood vomiting, diarrhea with stomach cramps right after some days of swallowing this bacteria. A patient belongs to Maryland says that the bacteria found by CDC, in a pack of chicken Caesar salad. CDC recommends people not to sell this product. The bacteria found in warm-blooded organisms. Here are some early symptoms of infection as Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach cramps, bloody Diarrhea, Fever, Malaise, Loss of appetite, Mild dehydration. Some antibiotics like Trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole, Fosfomycin Nitrofurantoin are being used to treat these infections.

Infectious patients must drink a lot of water to get rid of dehydration and enough sleep. The bacteria can be infected from private wells and swimming tanks too. The tap water treated in the US contains chlorine, but sometimes bacteria can get through it. Hygiene of hands is also an essential factor concerning the spread of bacteria. Preventions include cooking meat in a properly, drinking pasteurized milk, liquids washing vegetables, different storages of meat and veggies, clean boards before cutting multiple things. Escherichia coli (E.coli) gets destroyed at 160 Deg F. Recommended foods such as rice, bananas, dry crackers reduces the chances of getting infected.
